  2. A wonderful Parish Priest who was much loved by his congregation. All were made welcome. It is too sad that he has left so close to retiring with all the ideas he had for his twilight years. God rest his soul.

  3. Canon Quinlan married me in October 2010. Very sad news. Seems so unfair just as he was about to retire.

  4. Canon Quinlan a most remarkable and much loved man. He certainly knew how to engage his congregation and I feel honoured to have known him. I was baptised by Canon Quinlan many years ago at The Holy Ghost in Balham and to my delight he baptised my son just a year ago. He walked with me in the most joyous moments of my life and carried me through some of the darkest moments too. I hope his spirit will linger long at St Simons and in the hearts of everyone he knew. God bless you Canon Quinlan

  5. A man who had such an influence on my journey to conversion. He was so in touch with his congregation and loved by all. To say he will be missed is a massive understatement. His legacy is his congregation and the wisdom, love, joy, humility and and wicked sense of humour he shared with us all. God bless you Richard and thank you for the spiritual riches you brought to my family. Mark Waters

  6. Canon Richard Quinlan was a wonderful man, full of goodness and kindness. He seemed to me to have time for everyone and willingly to share other's troubles and sorrows. To me he was person of great spiritual richness and depth. At the same time he seemed to have an inner freedom and lightness of touch which made him very accessible. I know also that he did much work on an inter-faith and inter-denominational basis (I am not a catholic) and was close to the Focolari movement in Italy and around the world. II believe that Canon Quinlan was truly a shepherd who loved and looked out for each and every one of his sheep. I am very sad that he has left so suddenly and without warning and I will miss him.
